If There Were One Thing I Coud Tell You

If there were one thing I could tell you
before we say goodbye,
It would be how much God loves you;
How Jesus died, for you and I.

For God so loved the world,
That He gave His only Son;
Jesus became the sacrifice
For us – for everyone.

You see, we’re born,
We grow, we sin.
No one is ‘good’,
We’re all corrupt within.

God is so holy, so pure, divine;
We’re cut off, by our deeds,
From Him, forever – except:
Jesus intercedes.

The payment of our sin is death,
There’s nothing we can do.
But God offers us eternal life,
Through grace, we’re made anew.

God offers us this sacred gift:
Eternal life, through Jesus Christ,
And it’s just because He loves us so,
That Jesus’s death sufficed.

For while we are still sinners,
Jesus died in our place
Because God sees and loves,
Looking not on our disgrace.

This gift is being offered
Freely, to all
Who choose to believe,
If on His Name they call.

For everyone who calls
On the Name of the Lord,
Goes from death, to life,
All hope being restored!

What does the Bible say about sin and death?

Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

This means that not only do we die physically, but we also die spiritually, condemned, as the result of our sin. Even seemingly small sins have the same result as ones that seem bigger and much worse. On our own, we have no hope. This spiritual death is not just sleeping; it is separation from God, and all things good, in a place of eternal torment.

How can I be saved from this?

Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 10:9-10: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Romans 10:13: “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

While your body will still die a physical death, your soul will live on, for eternity. Because Jesus died in our place as our sacrifice, we don’t have to die the spiritual death. If we put our faith in Him to save us, God sees us through the sacrificial blood of Jesus, because He is the only way to salvation. There is no eternal life without Jesus.

How do I know God loves me?

Romans 8:35-39: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:
‘For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.’
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Romans 5:7-9: “For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”

Isaiah 54:10: “’For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,’
Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.”

Ephesians 2:4-7: “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”

There are countless more verses to express just how much the Lord loves us! The ultimate sacrifice is giving up one’s life for another, and while one can hardly imagine doing that, Jesus did it – willingly – so that we could be with Him for eternity. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. He doesn’t want condemnation for anyone, and putting your faith and trust in Jesus as your salvation is the only way.

I’m always here to talk, or just a click away, right here.

If I knew I were losing you, and we could have one last conversation, this is what it would be about.
Everyone needs to have hope. By choosing Jesus, you can have hope eternal, and so can those whom you love.
Jesus is calling. Will you answer?

Love,
